The Inquisitor’s Palace

The Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu is one of the few surviving inquisitorial palaces accessible to the public. Adapted over centuries, the building contains tribunal rooms, private apartments, a chapel, prison cells and service areas. Its architecture and collections explore the history of the Roman Inquisition in Malta as well as religious culture and everyday life under the Order of St John.
