Tarxien Prehistoric Complex

The Ħal Tarxien Prehistoric Complex consists of a group of megalithic structures built between the fourth and third millennia BC. The site is renowned for its sophisticated stonework, relief decoration, spiral motifs and representations of animals. It provides exceptional evidence for prehistoric architecture, ritual and artistic expression in Malta.
