St Paul’s Catacombs

St Paul’s Catacombs form the largest complex of interconnected Roman underground cemeteries in Malta. Used from the Punic and Roman periods into Late Antiquity, the site preserves a wide variety of tomb types, ritual tables and architectural features. Its extensive visitor centre and accessible underground areas explain burial traditions and the diverse communities of ancient Melite.
