Old Prison

The Old Prison lies within the Citadel in Victoria, Gozo. Its surviving cells and corridors preserve centuries of graffiti carved by inmates, including names, dates, ships, crosses and other images. The complex was used from the time of the Knights of St John into the 20th century and offers a striking insight into punishment, confinement and everyday life in historic Gozo.
